Movactive partners with Vodafone for machine-to-machine offering

Movactive and Vodafone announced a strategic partnership between the two companies, to provide a joint machine-to-machine (M2M) industry range of solutions. With this alliance the two companies intend to encourage business customers to adopt m2m applications: solutions meld hardware, software, connectivity, service for data capture, processing and management, into one plug-and-play solution. Thus customers are discharged from the selection and integration of many supplies and its associated costs and risks.

Many vertical applications are already available: water, energy, utilities, environment, gas and fuel, electronic and electromechanical machines, (as vending, heating, plants, air conditioning systems), building, rental, insurance, telecommunications and IT.

Data from remote devices are becoming crucial for many organisations because they cut the costs, create new service and new sources of profits. However, the development of M2M solutions has traditionally required significant investments and a long development time, and resulted in non-scalable, proprietary solutions. On the other side, the Vodafone-Movactive partnership combines wireless connectivity – that means the telephone operator's secure fast, effective access – with the Movactive open and seamless architecture, to provide an integrated and simple solution that addresses these major obstacles to growth. For corporate users, the alliance means a scalable and sustainable solution, investment protection.
